What Custom Koozys Actually Cost in 2026 (And Why Every Quote Is Different)
Share
You asked four suppliers for a price on 500 custom koozys. You got back four numbers, and the highest one is roughly triple the lowest one.
Welcome to promotional products, where nobody publishes a price list and everyone acts like this is normal.
It is not a scam. Those four quotes are usually pricing four genuinely different products that happen to share a name. The trouble is that the differences live in the spec sheet, and the spec sheet is the one thing nobody sends you.
So we are going to do the unusual thing and publish ours. Below are our actual 2026 prices, what moves them, and where buyers reliably overpay.
Our real prices, per unit
All figures in euro, per unit, excluding VAT. Tax is calculated at checkout based on your location.
| Style | 100 | 250 | 500 | 1,000 | 5,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scuba foam | €2.18 | €1.85 | €1.63 | €1.33 | €0.80 |
| Standard neoprene | €2.40 | €1.92 | €1.73 | €1.50 | €1.30 |
| Pint glass / wine glass | €2.10 | €1.70 | €1.40 | €1.10 | €0.90 |
| Tall boy / skinny | €2.47 | €1.99 | €1.80 | €1.57 | €1.37 |
| Burlap | €2.66 | €2.17 | €2.05 | €1.21 | €1.05 |
| Cowboy boot | €3.12 | €2.88 | €2.40 | €1.87 | €1.30 |
| Glow in the dark | €4.70 | €3.85 | €3.15 | €2.65 | €1.60 |
| Faux leather | €4.85 | €3.35 | €2.65 | €2.18 | €1.37 |
| Nano puff | — | — | €2.65 | €2.15 | €1.35 |
| Puff jacket | — | — | €4.73 | €4.55 | €4.35 |
| Wine bottle holder | €6.75 | €5.05 | €4.60 | €3.65 | €2.95 |
| Champagne bottle | €7.25 | €5.60 | €4.85 | €3.85 | €3.15 |
Minimum order is 100 units on most styles. Standard neoprene drops to 10 units, which is the one to pick if you want a tiny run for a wedding or a small team. Nano puff and puff jacket start at 500. Need more than 10,000? That is a direct conversation, not a calculator.
The foam versus neoprene question, answered properly
This is the decision that costs people the most money, and almost everyone gets it backwards.
Open cell foam is the thin, papery, slightly crunchy one. It prints fine and it lives about four outings before it tears at the seam or takes a permanent crease.
Neoprene is the thick, rubbery, wetsuit material. It holds its shape, it goes in the wash, it insulates properly, and it is still in the kitchen drawer two summers later.
Now look at the table again. At 100 units, foam is €2.18 and neoprene is €2.40. That is a difference of 22 cents. Twenty two cents between a product that survives one barbecue and a product that survives two summers.
At 500 units the gap is 10 cents. At 1,000 units it is 17 cents, which across the whole order is €170. That is roughly one dinner, in exchange for merch that outlives the campaign it was made for.
The gap only becomes meaningful at 5,000 units, where foam drops to €0.80 and neoprene holds at €1.30. If you are handing out five thousand units at a single festival gate and you genuinely do not care what happens after Sunday, foam is a defensible choice. Everywhere else, buying foam to save 22 cents is one of the worst trades in merchandise.
What NFC costs
Adding a smart chip turns an untrackable giveaway into something that produces data. Every tap is logged, you can change the destination whenever you like, and nobody has to download anything.
The chip adds €0.34 per unit from 500 to 3,000 units, €0.28 from 3,001 to 4,999, and €0.25 at 5,000 and above. Minimum order for NFC is 500 units. On top of that there is a €5 per month subscription for the dashboard, link management and tap analytics.
So a run of 1,000 standard neoprene koozys with NFC comes to €1.50 plus €0.34, which is €1.84 per unit, or €1,840 for the order, plus €60 a year for the dashboard.
For context, €5 a month is less than the cost of a single click on most Google Ads campaigns in this category. And the click stops the moment you stop paying.
The other five things that move the number
Print method
Screen printing charges you per colour. One colour is cheap. Four colours means four screens, four setups and four passes. It is excellent for bold, flat, simple artwork.
Full colour dye sublimation prints the entire wrap in one go, gradients and photographs included, regardless of how many colours you use. It becomes the obvious answer the moment your design has more than three colours in it.
Decide the print method before the designer opens the file, not after. Designing something beautiful and complicated and then asking for a screen print quote is how budgets get blown.
Quantity, and where the savings actually sit
Setup costs are fixed. Screens, plates and press setup cost the same whether you order 100 units or 10,000. At 100 units that fixed cost is smeared across 100 pieces and dominates your unit price. At 1,000 it is a rounding error.
Look at standard neoprene. Going from 100 to 250 units cuts your unit price by 20 percent. Going from 250 to 500 cuts another 10 percent. Going from 1,000 to 5,000 cuts 13 percent, but you have to buy four thousand more koozys to get it.
Most of the saving is captured early. If you are ordering 200 and the step to 250 is small in total euros, do the maths before you decide you are being frugal.
Stitching and finish
Glued seams are cheaper and fail first. Stitched seams are the difference between a product that survives a dishwasher accident and one that comes apart in a cooler bag. If a supplier will not tell you how the base is constructed, assume the cheaper answer.
Artwork and proofing
Send vector artwork and you will not pay for cleanup. Send a low resolution logo pulled off a website and someone has to redraw it. Every order should get a proof you approve before production. If it does not, that is not a cheaper supplier, that is a riskier one.
Shipping and where the thing is actually made
A very cheap unit price shipped from the other side of the world can land more expensive than a European made unit once you add freight, customs, duty and the four weeks you spent waiting. Always ask for a landed cost. Unit price alone is a number designed to win a comparison, not to tell you what you will pay.
Cost per impression, which is the number nobody calculates
Here is a small piece of arithmetic that changes most purchasing decisions.
The 2026 ASI Global Advertising Impressions Study, based on nearly 5,000 consumers across Europe and North America, found that promotional products generate an average of 3,300 brand impressions across their lifespan, and that 78 percent of people keep promotional products specifically because they find them useful.
Run our numbers through that. A standard neoprene koozy at 1,000 units costs €1.50. Divide that by 3,300 impressions and you are paying roughly €0.00045 per impression. Add the NFC chip and you are at €0.00056, and now you can actually see who engaged.
There is no digital channel that comes close to that, and it is not particularly close.
Read the second statistic again too, because it is the whole ballgame. Usefulness is the retention mechanism. Not design. Not your logo size. Usefulness. Which is exactly why the 22 cents between foam and neoprene is the most consequential 22 cents in your order.
Lead times
Custom koozys run 18 to 32 days from approved artwork to delivery on standard shipping, or 15 to 28 days on express. That window includes production and transit.
Work backwards from your event date and add two weeks of slack. Not because suppliers are unreliable, but because you will change your mind about the artwork at least once, and that revision cycle has to live somewhere.
Where buyers actually lose money
Ordering just under a price break. At 240 units you are paying the 100 unit rate. Ten more units and you drop to €1.92. Your total goes from €576 to €480. You pay €96 less and go home with ten more koozys.
Paying for colours you do not need. A two colour version of your logo often looks sharper on neoprene than the full gradient version, and costs less. Ask for it.
Buying foam to save cents. Covered above. Do not.
Rushing. Express saves you a few days and costs a premium for no product improvement whatsoever. Order earlier and spend that money on more units.
Buying to a unit price instead of to a use case. A giveaway for 3,000 festival attendees and a gift for 200 key accounts are not the same purchase and should not be optimised the same way.
What to send when you ask for a quote
You will get a straight number fast if your first message includes the quantity you want plus the next quantity up, your artwork as a vector file, your delivery address and country, the date you need it in hand, and whether you want NFC.
Five things. That is it.
Prices above are current for 2026 and exclude VAT. Build your order to see live pricing for your exact spec, or talk to us if you need something the calculator does not cover.
